![]() What I've seen is folks get used to one simulator, and because of familiarity, that's what they stick with, even if someone shows up with a "better" product, that's cheaper, faster, w/e. Aspen Plus has solids handling capabilities in it, I believe, and it has an "automatic recycle" capability whereas in HYSYS you have to add them manually. So as far as accuracy goes, you're *probably* going to get the same answers out of both programs. I think they both use the same thermo version 7.1 of Aspen's suite of tools allows HYSYS to start using the property packages from Aspen Plus. AspenTech has a very large market share, despite the fact that (in the case of HYSYS, in my opinion) is very user unfriendly. The HYSYS user interface is horrid, based on my experience with other simulators.
